Industrial Engineer from Universidad Politécnica of Madrid, he is currently chairing MBD, company focused on business consulting.

 

He has been CEO of Aldeasa from April 2005 to July 2012.

 

He has been the Chairman of High Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Spain from February 2005 to May 2011.

 

Among other charges, he has been the CEO of Viajes Marsan, the founder and member of Board of Directors of FITUR, the founder and Managing Director at José Ortega y Gasset Foundation, and editor of the magazine Viajar.

 

Throughout his career in the public sector, he has held maximum responsibility positions, among which the following stand out: Minister of Commerce and Tourism from 1993 to 1996, Secretary of State of Sports and Chairman of the High Counsel of Sports from 1987 to 1993, being responsible during that time for the organization of Barcelona 92 Olympic Games.
